After a dull, wet July, the last few days have seen a return to a very warm summer.
As far as the forthcoming harvest is concerned, the start date has been declared as 24 August and we can only be optimistic and delighted to give you our thoughts about the 2011 harvest

Gangs of grape-pickers started work in large numbers on 24 August. As always, the harvest began in the early-ripening areas. Initial comments are that the grapes are very pretty, very dark and small, with small berries; the winegrowers do not think that they will have a large harvest on the parcels in this area.

Under perfect weather conditions, the 2011 grape harvest started on the 22nd of August in the early-fruiting vineyards and finished on the 15th of September in the later zones. A rarity for us winemakers, we have harvested twice in 12 months- grape-picking started last year on the 13th of September.
