Domaines & Châteaux

The owners of "Domaine Les Chenevières" have lived and worked in Saint Maurice de Satonnay for several generations. Part of their typically Mâcon style home was built at least 300 years ago.
The family have been winegrowers, father and son, for over five generations. They are well known for the high quality of their Mâcon Villages.
If you’re in the area, Nicolas and Vincent will be pleased to let you taste their wine accompanied by some goat’s cheese.

A brilliant pale gold colour with green tints. Intense white blossom aromas delicately enhanced by hints of lemon. The palate confirms this delightful bouquet, offering a whole range of fruit and floral aromas. Superbly full-bodied. A seductive wine.

For over 200 years, the BERANGER family has lived in this part of the hamlet of Pouilly, known in the past as the "Béranger District" in the commune of Solutré.
Since the death of his father in 1987, Robert BERANGER, his son, helped by his wife, have carefully cultivated and vinified the Estate’s 4 hectares of particularly well exposed vines.
Unlike many estates, the cellar forms an integral part of the house: it’s like a second sitting room into which guests are invited, glass in hand, to talk about Pouilly Fuissé. The BERANGER family will be pleased to share with you their passion for wine and vines.

A brilliant pale gold colour with light green tints.
The nose is very complex and shows great finesse, combining white blossom, hazelnut, roasted almond, pear and lime blossom aromas ... It confirms its promise on the palate with delicate, fruity hazelnut and almond flavours.
A rich, fleshy wine with a long, long finish. Very well made.

The name "Domaine de la Chapelle" was lodged in 1904 by Marius GONDARD, grandfather of Pascal ROLLET, the current owner of the estate.
The estate is in the heart of the Appellation, in the hamlet of Pouilly, a favourite "terroir" for making great Pouilly Fuissé wines.
The very helpful microclimate (South / South-east exposure) combined with a clay-and-limestone soil gives the Chardonnay an opportunity to express itself fully. As the average age of the vines is 49 years, Domaine de la Chapelle’s wines are made from very concentrated grapes. The estate uses responsible growing techniques, including ploughing (2 or 3 times a year).
The grapes are picked entirely by hand and sorted by pickers loyal to the estate. There is no crushing or pumping to avoid trituration. All the vats are temperature-controlled to extract even the most subtle aromas during vinification.

The estate is in the heart of the appellation and the wines it produces reflect the "terroir" particularly well; this means floral and mineral notes followed by a structure powerful enough to ensure that this Pouilly-Fuissé is recognised as one of the best wines in Burgundy, supported by intense acidity. The wine is rounded off by citrus fruit notes (lime and citronella).

The vines used to make this wine extend over 1Ha20 of steep slopes between the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson.
The soil is mainly clay-and-limestone, with limestone dominant in some places, which gives the wine its lovely mineral quality. The steeply sloping parcels require particular attention. The vineyards are grassed and regularly ploughed between the rows to help fight against erosion.
The winegrower is a precise, clean, meticulous man who makes a wine in his image: this Pouilly-Fuissé is upright and pure.

This lightly-coloured wine offers fresh fruit and white blossom aromas enhanced with a hint of impulsive citrus fruit. Fruity and round but without any excess, the flavours are soft and lemony, leading to a long, finish dominated by grapefruit.

Domaine de la Bâtie has belonged to the same family for over a hundred years. Today, Madame DE MILLY presides over the destiny of "La Bâtie", assisted by estate manager Pierre BEAUBERNARD. They meet regularly to taste the wines and work on any improvements.
Madame DE MILLY likes fruity wines and the grapes are harvested as late as possible every year to ensure that the grapes have reached ideal maturity.
The refrigeration unit in the winery keeps the fermentation temperature under perfect control between 16 and 18°C to preserve as much fruit as possible.
The relationship between Georges DUBOEUF and Domaine de la Bâtie goes back to 1968, when the first wines were purchased.

A yellow colour with golden tints, the wine develops complex tropical fruit aromas and freshness provided by the mineral notes of the "terroir". On the palate, a good balance between liveliness and fullness, fresh fruit and minerality. Delicious with shellfish.

The Estate is in the commune of Prissé, one of the six villages in which Saint Véran is produced.
The lovely building, built in the late 17th Century, is attached to the Château de Monceau, where a great man of the Mâconnais, Lamartine, wrote "L'histoire des Girondins".
To find the peace he needed to write his book, the famous poet hid himself away at the far end of the grounds in a little wooden hut that he named "La solitude".
Hubert TRIBOULET, his wife and their son Alain, run the Estate with great attention to detail.
In 1959, Hubert took over from his father, who was known for having long worked as a distiller in the neighbouring village of Bussières.

A pale golden colour with light green tints. The nose is complex, revealing apple and pear aromas and scents of white blossom, subtly enhanced by hazelnut and almond. Fresh and hearty on the palate, with a touch of mineral. A pleasing, easy-drinking wine that your guests will love.
