Few people know that the region of Beaujolais produces white wines. The Beaujolais blanc area lies on two departments : Rhône and Saône et Loire. It is divided in two zones : the extreme north of the vineyards, neighbouring Mâconnais and the west-south part of Villefranche, mostly in a triangle limited by the villages of Liergues, le Bois d’Oingt and Bully.
Beaujolais blanc is often called “the white pearl” of Beaujolais wines : it represents only one percent of the entire region’s wines. Beaujolais blanc undoubtedly deserves to be tried due to the scarcity of the appellation combined with its excellent quality.
A growing number of connoisseurs are enjoying this magical, unexpected and delicious wine.
