In 1631, Antoine BRAC, notary in Beaujeu, created the estate, which covered less than one hectare.
At the time, it was a simple vendangeoir, a small building where people came for the harvest.
The estate grew steadily in the following century, taking on its present form at the end of the 18th century.
François BRAC (1693-1779), his great-grandson, became an alderman in Lyon and was ennobled.
He took the Château’s name and became BRAC DE LA PERRIERE.
From an ancient Beaujolais family, the two brothers, Luc a winegrower for some twenty years and Arnaud the seventh generation and a biologist by training, run the vineyard alone.
Arnaud named the Côte de Brouilly after his wife.
They take great care in cultivating the vines, and the vinification is traditional.
