History

As its name suggests, Côte de Brouilly comes from the steep, volcanic slopes of Mont Brouilly.
Unless, of course, you prefer the pretty legend that this hill was born of the spill from the hood of a giant who dug up the Saône!
Rising to 485 meters, its summit is crowned by the Notre-Dame du Raisin chapel, built in 1955 and dedicated to the Virgin of Fourvière, and offers a splendid panorama of the entire Beaujolais wine-growing region.
Its floor is made of granite and hard, dark blue-green schist.
This is the famous “blue stone” that gives this noble cru its vigor and, over time, its great finesse.
The rocks on the slopes store up the sun’s heat during the day, releasing it to the vines at night.
Côte de Brouilly is a great wine that reveals the flavor of the earth.

Tasting

With its beautiful garnet-red color, it’s fat, unctuous and very harmonious, with a delicious apricot and plum taste on the palate. This wine will keep all its qualities for 3 to 4 years.
