The CARRET family has lived in the commune of Vaux en Beaujolais (Clochemerle) for several generations.
\nJean-Claude CARRET’s ancestors farmed the estate on a mixed farming basis.
\nIn the 1970s, his father decided to devote himself exclusively to growing vines.
\nA third of the estate’s vines were renewed between 1995 and 1999.
\nTwo-thirds of the estate is considered old vines (over 40 years old).
\nThe slopes and exposure of the vineyards make this estate unique.
\nThe vines are goblet-shaped, on slopes of 30 to 40%.
\nThis makes the work more difficult than on the plains.
\nYields are 40 hl\/hectare.
\nHarvesting is manual.
