History

Although it took 18 years, the birth of SAINT-VERAN in 1971 was a logical event.
It was the consecration of a wine that had always stood out from the other white wines of the Mâconnais.
The appellation covers 7 communes: Chânes, Chasselas, Davayé, Leynes, Fuissé, Saint Vérand and Solutré-Pouilly.
Geographically, it encircles the famous POUILLY-FUISSE.
So, some are looking for analogies with this great neighbor.
Soil, topography, grape variety and winemaking techniques all have something in common, but SAINT-VERAN has its own distinctive taste.

Tasting

This bright pale yellow cuvée has a very elegant nose. It’s on the palate that its full dimension is revealed. After an invigorating, mineral attack, it asserts itself with an imposing structure, fullness and perfect balance. The dense finish offers floral aromas. A racy, distinctive wine that can be cellared for three or four years.
