In 1736, Etienne SORNAY, the ancestor of the MARMONNIER family and current owner of the estate, left his initials on a fireplace, proving that this is a very old property.
MARMONNIER is a very famous name in viticulture.
In 1835, a MARMONNIER invented the press that bears his name, also known as the “American press”, for commercial reasons.
At the time, it was all the rage in Lafayette.
Two winegrowers share the work in the vineyard, located in the best Morgon climats, notably that of Les Charmes.
The vines are 50 years old on average.
They are cultivated using sustainable methods.
