History

Chénas la plus petite appellation du Beaujolais en surface. Son nom est lié aux anciennes plantations de chênes de la commune, défrichées par les gallo-romains puis par les ordres monastiques sur ordonnance de Philippe V le Long. La vigne s’étend sur des coteaux vallonnés.

La vigne existe sur le lieu-dit “Les Darroux” depuis fort longtemps. Les religieuses Ursulines de Mâcon y possédaient un petit domaine qui fut vendu à la Révolution comme bien national.
Les vignes, d’une soixantaine d’années, sont conduite en lutte raisonnée.

Tasting

Ce Chénas offre une robe brillante d’une jolie couleur grenat. Cette cuvée aligne les atouts : gourmande, profonde, onctueuse, elle déploie toute la faconde d’un Gamay bien mûr, sans surenchère, où les arômes de petites baies noires, fraîches et juteuses, dominent leur sujet. Un Chénas de grand charme qui fera merveille au vieillissement, mais qui se goûte déjà fort bien.
