History

This estate is located in the commune of Saint-Lager.
The GUIGARD family (former wine merchant from Lyon) owned the estate from 1925 to 2008. At that time, it was composed of three sharecroppers (wine growers). Today, Gilles VINCENT and his son Stéphane work on the estate. The estate belongs to GROUPAMA since 2009, and Gilles VINCENT remains the owner of the brand.

The vines are 60 years old on average. The density is 10 000 vines per hectare. The winemaker practices goblet pruning.

The harvest is obviously manual, in whole bunches, according to the traditional Beaujolais practice.

The wines are stored in stainless steel vats.

Since 1989, the SA VINS GEORGES DUBOEUF buys the harvest of the Grand Croix estate.

Tasting

When young, the wine has red berry characteristics (raspberries and strawberries) but also a touch of blackcurrant. Smooth and complex on the palate, where it develops its full range of aromas. Pleasant to drink over the next 2-3 years.
