History

Although it had to wait for 18 years, the birth of SAINT-VERAN in 1971 was a logical event; It was the consecration of a wine that had always stood out clearly from the other white wines of the Mâconnais.
The appellation extends over 7 producer communes : Chânes, Chasselas, Davayé, Leynes, Fuissé, Saint Vérand and Solutré-Pouilly.
Geographically, it encircles the famous POUILLY-FUISSE, and many people look for analogies with the great neighbour.
The soil, the relief, the grape variety and the vinification technique offer points in common, certainly, but SAINT-VERAN has its own originality as far as taste is concerned.

Tasting

This brilliant pale yellow wine has a very elegant nose. Its full dimension is revealed on the palate. After an invigorating, mineral attack, the wine asserts its imposing structure, fleshiness and perfect balance. A lovely, dense, floral finish. A racy, typical wine that may be laid down for three or four years.
