Museum of the Companionship
The Musée départemental du Compagnonnage presents incredible masterpieces created by true artists, the Compagnons. From the purlins to the models and emblematic objects used by the companion workers, you will observe an ancestral know-how.

Cluny Abbey
Independent and powerful. William the Pious founded the abbey in 910, directly under the protection of Rome. Its abbot was a mediator between the political powers and the pope. Cluny is the mother house of 1,400 dependencies. Sold as national property in 1798, the abbey was dismantled and its church almost destroyed.

Rock of Solutré
Culminating at 495 meters, the Roche de Solutré is located in the heart of the Grand Site de France, made of Solutré, Pouilly and Vergisson. Put your steps in those of the former president François Mitterrand and make the ascent. Climb this small summit and discover a spectacular panorama on the vineyards of the Mâconnais. A stop at the museum of prehistory located at the foot of the rock is also a must. The opportunity to better understand the archaeological valueof the site.

City of Macon
Situated on the banks of the Saône, the city of Mâcon has a southern character.
The visit of the historical center allows you to discover the charming Place aux Herbes and its splendid Renaissance wooden house; the Old Saint-Vincent, vestige of the old Saint-Vincent cathedral; the religious buildings that are the Saint-Pierre church and the Saint-Vincent cathedral; the apothecary of the Hôtel-Dieu; or the Saint-Laurent bridge and its beautiful view on the quays and the houses of the old city.

City of Villefranche sur Saône
Beaujolais is above all a region of which Villefranche is the capital. The festive tradition is punctuated throughout the year with the Beaujolais Nouveau festival, the conscripts’ festival, the continents and cultures festival and many other meetings which testify to the spirit of Beaujolais conviviality.
The Paul Dini museum of contemporary art, the district of classified houses from the Renaissance period, the collegiate church of Notre-Dame des Marais, and the old Hôtel-Dieu are the highlights of the guided tours.

The Beaujolais Wine Route
The Beaujolais Wine Routeis 140 kilometers of adventure, from the north of Lyon to the south of Mâcon, gateway to Burgundy. On the road it is 12 appellations to discover and hundreds of villages to visit.

The Mâconnais Wine Route
The MâconWine Routecrosses 78 communes, slightly overflowing into the neighboring Beaujolais vineyards. The local tourist office has mapped out eight itineraries to discover the region and its cultural jewels.
