The profile of the Solutré and Vergisson rocks juts into the sky like the prow of two ships.
At their foot, the most prestigious vineyard in the Mâconnais region, Pouilly Fuissé, extends over the communes of Fuissé, Chaintré, Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson.
The prehistoric and historical interest of these rocks is undeniable.
In 1987, a unique Museum of Prehistory was inaugurated in Solutré.
It is recognized as one of the most important museums of its kind.
For this special “Fût de Chêne” cuvée, the wine is aged for a minimum of 8 months in new or one- or two-year-old barrels.
Most of the barrels, made of French oak, come from a cooper with whom we’ve worked closely for over thirty years.
The wine, already complex, is enriched by a delicate woody, vanilla note that marries perfectly with the flinty minerality characteristic of the appellation.
